Sheffield Grand Mosque welcomes visitors year round, providing an opportunity to learn about Islam and dispel common misconceptions. We host numerous visits from schools, colleges, universities, and community groups eager to understand the mosque’s role and Islamic beliefs. Most visits are booked through our website or the SGM app, requiring at least two weeks’ notice to arrange hosts for diverse age groups. However, tourists and individuals are welcome to drop in without prior appointments.
A typical visit includes observing a prayer, touring the mosque, and engaging in a Q&A session, with educational materials available for different age groups.
To meet growing demand, we organise five annual exhibitions, offering deeper insight into the mosque’s functions beyond prayer, the story of the Qur’an’s revelation, and key figures such as Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Mary, Jesus, and other prophets. Visitors can experience the call to prayer, witness a prayer demonstration, explore traditional Islamic attire, and take photos in traditional dress.
